Here and There 2020 Part 1: Zeitgeist presents Crocus Hill Ghost Story

November 13, 7 PM

This event will be Virtual and available to stream Free of charge at:

In our continuing collaboration with the extraordinary Saint Paul, Minnesota-based new music ensemble Zeitgeist, No Exit will host a chilling online event as our guests present Crocus Hill Ghost Story. A macabre tale of a house possessed, accompanied by a wildly evocative and colorful score, Crocus Hill Ghost Story explores a complex relationship between two longtime friends and the evolution of their relationship as they experience a haunting.

Zeitgeist’s Heather Barringer explains, “Zeitgeist invited Julie Johnson to explore new musical ideas with us through the Zeitgeist/Composer Workshop in 2014. We were taken with her American roots inspired compositions and were certain that together we could create something unique to share with audiences. She, in turn, invited her sister and frequent collaborator to join as well. We readily embraced the idea.

Little did we know we had invited a ghost into our midst! Our haunt led us to explore the sometimes dark and complicated side of a variety of relationships – between words, music, and images, lovers, friends and adversaries (living and otherwise) while continually moving between that veil of what is and what might be. The manifestation of our work, Crocus Hill Ghost Story, invites you into this shaded world as well. Welcome to our house.”

Listeners can find the link to the performance by going to either or the night of the concert.

As always, this concert is free and open to the public. Crocus Hill Ghost Story is suitable for teenagers through adults. Free and open to the public.
